Aspley State School is a vibrant, co-educational, state, primary school located in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane, Australia.
As an Independent Public School (IPS) we are uniquely strong, with a level of self-determination, whilst we are proudly part of a quality, state, education system. The school provides education for children from the preparatory year programme to primary years (Year 1 to Year 6).
Founded in August 1890, Aspley State School has a rich history of quality, primary education. Many families have a long association with the school. A number of students identify that their parents and grandparents were past students of this school.
With a motto of We Who Learn Succeed, students identify their learning goals and work with their teacher to achieve high standards.
Aspley State School is committed in providing a safe, respectful and disciplined learning environment for students and staff through the teaching of our four core values: Be Safe, Act Responsibly, Show Respect and Value Learning.
The school has proud traditions and innovative futures where quality educators ensure that every student is succeeding, through being active and engaged learners. Each student is challenged to dream, believe, create and succeed at all stages of their learning journey. Through an emergence of structured, inquiry based learning students are accountable for their own learning.
Our school is proud to be inclusive of all learners and we celebrate difference. We welcome students who represent 54 cultural groups in a globally respectful, learning community. We all smile in the same language!
Aspley State School students learn to speak Japanese, as the Language Other Than English (LOTE). Students engage with international, partner schools and host international study tours each year. Every year, school students and their families eagerly look forward to hosting delegations from Japan.
