Enrolment Meeting
The Enrolment Meeting is an important part of our transition program and provides Pre-Prep children and their families with the opportunity to attend a group session together. These sessions allow our teachers to meet and interact with children in a relaxed, play-based environment, supporting a smooth and positive transition into Prep. During this time, families will be guided through the enrolment documentation process.
Group meetings also provide families with the opportunity to connect with staff and other families as we begin the journey into school together.
Appointments will be scheduled once all enrolment documentation has been received and you have attended an Open Day.

Transition Program
Our Transition Program provides Pre-Prep students with the opportunity to engage in fun, hands-on activities, visit Prep classrooms, and become familiar with their new learning environment
and teachers across three Wednesday afternoons. Each session will have a different focus, supporting a smooth and positive transition into Prep.
Families are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions to gain the greatest benefit from the program. Dedicated time will also be provided for parents and carers to receive practical information and strategies to support their child’s transition to Prep. This is a valuable opportunity to connect with other families and learn more about the exciting journey ahead.
Dates:

Time:
Step-Up and Step-In
To help ease any concerns and build excitement for the year ahead, children will participate in a Step-Up and Step-In session in November. During this experience, students will visit their new learning spaces, meet their teacher, and become familiar with their classroom environment.
This session provides a valuable opportunity for children to gain confidence, develop a sense of belonging, and get a positive glimpse of what the upcoming school year will bring.
In catchment enrolments
Enrolments for siblings of current students and all prospective students from our catchment area should complete an enrolment form in Term 1 of the year prior to the child starting Prep.
If your child's birth date is between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021 and you have not enrolled your child for 2026, please collect an enrolment form from our school office.
Out of catchment enrolments
Aspley State School take applications for enrolment from out of catchment families. Out of catchment enrolments are assessed based on the school's Enrolment Management Plan. Applications from out of catchment enrolments will be accepted by the school office on the first day of school prior to the year the student commences Prep. For example, if your student is commencing Prep in 2027, Aspley State School will receive enrolments on the first day of Term 1 in 2026.
Early entry to Prep
Queensland children are eligible to attend Preparatory Year (Prep) if they reach the age of 5 years by 30 June in the year they propose to attend Prep. Children whose birthdays fall in the month of July, and children previously enrolled at school in another state or country, may be able to commence Prep early if they are assessed by the school principal as being ready for school.
