Step-Up and Step-In

To alleviate any worries and build excitement for the upcoming year, the children will participate in a 'Step-Up and Step-In' session in November. During this event, your child will go to their new learning areas, meet their teacher, and experience their new educational space. It's a fantastic way for them to get a glimpse of what's to come.

In catchment enrolments

Aspley State School is enrolment managed. To find out if you live in the catchment area, please refer to the catchment map External link.

Enrolments for siblings of current students and all prospective students from our catchment area should complete an enrolment form in Term 1 of the year prior to the child starting Prep.

If your child's birth date is between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020 and you have not enrolled your child for 2025, please collect an enrolment form from our school office.

Out of catchment enrolments

Aspley State School take applications for enrolment from out of catchment families.  Out of catchment enrolments are assessed based on the school's Enrolment Management Plan.  Applications from out of catchment enrolments will be accepted by the school office on the first day of school prior to the year the student commences Prep.  For example, if your student is commencing Prep in 2025, Aspley State School will receive enrolments on the first day of Term 1 in 2024.

Early entry to Prep

Queensland children are eligible to attend Preparatory Year (Prep) if they reach the age of 5 years by 30 June in the year they propose to attend Prep. Children whose birthdays fall in the month of July, and children previously enrolled at school in another state or country, may be able to commence Prep early if they are assessed by the school principal as being ready for school. For further information about early entry to prep please see these documents Early Entry Prep - Considerations and Application Process.pdf and Early Entry Prep - Frequently Asked Questions.pdf. If you would like to apply for early entry to Prep for your child please contact our enrolment officer on 07 3863 9111.

Considerations for early entry to Prep will commence in Term 4, prior to the child attending Prep.
