Welcome to Aspley State School

Aspley State School opened its doors for learning in August 1890.  From small beginnings with 40 students, the school has evolved over its 125 years, with the needs of the community.  In 2015 the school community celebrated the work of the 13,000 students and 700 teachers who have passed through the gates and contributed to Aspley becoming a progressive Independent Public School.

  • Staff, students and families work in partnership with:
    a key moral purpose – for all students to dream, believe, create and succeed in every stage of their learning journey;
  • an unrelenting focus on quality teaching and learning through the Powerful Learning framework;
  • a feedback culture to plan and achieve learning goals;
  • deep learning in personalised and challenging ways, respecting the core curriculum expectations of the Australian curriculum;
  • an explicit improvement agenda focussed on Aspley SS being one of the highest performing schools in amongst our ‘like schools’ across Australia;
  • a ‘no excuses’ culture enacted through ‘The Aspley Way’ with staff collaborating in teams to share the load and plan for learning with the gradual release of responsibility model.
At Aspley State School we focus on preparing your child for their future.  We are committed to maintaining our supportive school in a caring environment, one that offers your child the very best.   Our 730 students work hard and focus on continual improvement and our results certainly reflect this.  Equally important though is remembering to ‘have fun’ and laugh – taking some time to enjoy being part of something special – ‘The Aspley Community’.
Thank-you for taking the time to visit our website. We look forward to sharing the next year of learning with you and your family.
