Enrolling for Prep

Aspley State School is enrolment managed. To find out if you live in the catchment area please refer to the catchment map.

In catchment enrolments

Enrolments for siblings of current students and all prospective students from our catchment area should complete an enrolment form in Term 1 in the year prior to the child starting Prep.

If you have not enrolled your child for 2019, please collect an enrolment form from our school office.

Out of catchment enrolments

Expressions of interest for out of catchment enrolments will open in Term 2 in the year prior to the child attending Prep.

An information morning will be held early in the term, after which an expression of interest form will be released to out of catchment families. Forms are to filled out and returned to the school office. Places are offered on a first-in, first-served basis, so please ring our school office during Term 1 for dates and further details.

Please note that expression of interest forms will not be released prior to the first information session.

The first round of offers will commence early in Term 3 and letters will be sent home with further information on how to book a Prep interview.

Early entry to Prep

Queensland children are eligible to attend Preparatory Year (Prep) if they reach the age of 5 years by 30 June in the year they propose to attend Prep. Children whose birthdays fall in the month of July, and children previously enrolled at school in another state or country, may be able to commence Prep early if they are assessed by the school principal as being ready for school. Read more for further information about early entry to Prep (PDF, 375KB). If you would like to apply for early entry to Prep for your child please download the application form (PDF, 510KB).

Considerations for early entry to Prep will commence in Term 4, prior to the child attending Prep.
