Aspley Art Affair 20th October

The Aspley Art Affair is an artist in residency project specifically designed for the children of Aspley State School. The overarching focus of the show is sustainability which is a cross curriculum theme this year.

Every child has produced a piece of art work to take home, dealing with the individual aspect of this important issue which was also used for assessment purposes. One artist was allocated to each year level and they each possessed their own unique skill set.

For this joint school initiative they delivered 2 (1 hour) art lessons per class and also returned to work in the classroom with the children individually on a collaborative project to be auctioned. All this work will culminate in our special Aspley Art Affair event to be held in the school hall on Friday 20 October 6:30pm - 8:30pm, where all the students work will be proudly displayed.

In a celebration of the Arts and our unique environment, we are thrilled to offer this special event to parents and children free of charge. The night will include light refreshments served by our senior students and beautiful music provided by professional musicians from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra!

The evening will conclude with the presentation of a movie documenting students thoughts on the project and an auction of our magnificent collaborative art pieces which will raise money for the school to continue with future creative projects.
